Contrary to popular belief we are not an airline, although that would be nice if we had those capabilities, too! We aren't even an insurance company. In fact, United Way of Southwest Colorado is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) agency that brings people and communities together to advance the common good. We partner with local nonprofits, businesses, government and social service agencies to address our community's most pressing needs.
We support education, health and self-reliance in our local communities. We do this by fundraising, get involved in community projects and volunteering. When you give donations or your time to United Way of SWCO you are giving to 40 non-profits in the area from La Plata, San Juan, Archuleta to Montezuma and Dolores Counties. Our community is awesome, because so many people and organizations DO give to United Way of SWCO. This helps keep our local non-profits stay afloat, it helps provide services that we all have access to. It helps our neighbors, our friends, family and even ourselves. Together we create a healthy community.
