Needs From: Team Up

The Durango Cowboy Gathering will have a Sales Room located in the lobby area of the DoubleTree Hotel.  Volunteers will check out items purchased by customers and process payments.  Experience using Square payment software desirable.

A covered wagon will be parked on the 800 block of Main Avenue during the Gathering and will be used as a Sales Wagon and information center.  Volunteers will staff the Sales Wagon to help sell merchandise and answer questions from guests of the Gathering.  Volunteers will need to interact with the public and help to promote the Gathering.  Volunteers should dress for the appropriate weather conditions on the day of the shift. 

Volunteers will be positioned along Second Avenue from 6th St to 12th St. during the Horseback Social and the Cowboy Parade.  Volunteers will direct truck/trailer parking for the most efficient use of space.  Volunteers will facilitate the exit of trucks and trailers at the conclusion of the event.  Experience driving truck/trailer combinations is desirable.  Volunteers must be able to stand for the length of the shift, walk the length of the parking area multiple times, and will need to interact with the public.  Volunteer t-shirts and safety vests will be provided.  Volunteers should dress for the appropriate weather conditions on the morning of the event.  Required to attend one training event on Monday or Tuesday prior to event.

Volunteers will be positioned at cross streets on Second Avenue from 6th St to 12th St. during the Horseback Social and the Cowboy Parade.  Volunteers will direct arriving trucks to the Parking Crew and control cross traffic at 9th Street.  Volunteers will direct riders to registration area.  Volunteers must be able to stand for the length of the shift and will need to interact with the public.  Volunteer t-shirts and safety vests will be provided.  Volunteers should dress for the appropriate weather conditions on the morning of the event.  Required to attend one training event on Monday or Tuesday prior to event.

During the Horseback Social, volunteers will be positioned at the railroad crossings along Narrow Gauge Drive so the the trains do not need to sound their whistle.  Volunteers will be positioned at cross streets on Narrow Gauge Drive from 6th St to 12th St. during the Horseback Social and Cowboy Parade.  Volunteers will work with representatives from the DSNGRR and will monitor traffic at the railroad crossings.  Volunteers must be able to stand for the length of the shift and will need to interact with the public.  Volunteer t-shirts and safety vests will be provided.  Volunteers should dress for the appropriate weather conditions on the morning of the event.  Required to attend one training event on Saturday morning prior to event.

Volunteers will be positioned along 5th Street from Main Ave to Third Avenue prior to the Cowboy Parade.  Volunteers will assist with lining up and organizing parade participants.  Volunteers must be able to stand for the length of the shift and will need to interact with the public.  Volunteer t-shirts and safety vests will be provided.  Volunteers should dress for the appropriate weather conditions on the morning of the event.  Required to attend one training event on Saturday morning prior to event.

Volunteers will be positioned at cross streets on Main Avenue from 6th St to 12th St. during the Horseback Social and the Cowboy Parade.  Volunteers will monitor safety and rules for horseback riders and spectators.  A captain will be assigned at each intersection with a radio.  Volunteers must be able to stand for the length of the shift and will need to interact with the public.  Volunteer t-shirts and safety vests will be provided.  Volunteers should dress for the appropriate weather conditions on the morning of the event.  Required to attend one training event on Monday or Tuesday prior to event.

Volunteers will be positioned at either 500 block of Main Ave or the 800 block of Second Ave. during the Horseback Social and the Cowboy Parade.  Volunteers will check-in registered horseback riders and parade participants.  Volunteers will also provide direction and information to participants.  Volunteers will need to interact with the public.  Volunteer t-shirts and safety vests will be provided.  Volunteers should be dress for the appropriate weather conditions on the morning of the event.  Required to attend one training event on Monday or Tuesday prior to event.

Volunteers will tape 'No Parking Signs' on parking meters located along Main Avenue and Second Avenue from 5th Street to 12th Street and along 5th Street from Main Ave to Third Avenue.
